Canterio International's Pangaea Project is working in collaboration with three schools with a student
population of 3,178, serving 36 villages in the districts of Lilongwe and Salima, Malawi. This area has
over 150,000 children and our goal is to use our project to attract more students to attend school.

Our Focus

Education:
To encourage the individual orphans and vulnerable children  to stay in school and further their education. Our
support includes funds for tuition, school uniforms and educational supplies.

Nutrition:
To help the orphans and vulnerable students meet their protein and nutritional needs by developing animal
husbandry and farm programs in the schools. Schools will use the farms to teach agriculture, animal
domestication and composting waste as fertilizer. When the farms mature a portion of the crops will be used for
food. The remaining crops will be sold in conjunction with a course teaching the students the concepts of
business. The profits will be put back into the school to feed the students.

Vocational Training:
The schools report that many students will not seek a secondary education. Following the request from school
administrators, Canterio International will develop a program to provide alternative vocational training and
materials for OVC that want to learn a trade. Using local tradesman the schools will provide special classes in
carpentry, tailoring, plumbing, shoe making, brick laying, auto repair and many more. For students graduating
from these programs, Canterio International will provide opportunities to start businesses.

Micro Financing:
We are developing this program to help OVC and their care takers. Micro financing will be awarded to custodians
of orphans for business head start programs and to OVC who advance to secondary education for tuition.
