Parents and Guardians

We are a non-profit organization working with students on an educational and leadership action program called the “Pangaea Project.”  The
project connects students to our work with orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi, Africa. Our goal is for students to learn new ideas, discover
new perspectives, and ultimately grow as individuals, as they share knowledge and experiences with children in poor countries.

In 2009, students who participated in the Pangaea Project were inspired as they exchanged “Day in the Life” videos, depicting the daily life of
students in both countries. Students also exchanged knowledge about their respective countries, their schools, and even how they spend their
leisure time. It was a life altering experience for all the students involved.

Our local students demonstrated their skills in leadership and service throughout this project. When they realized some of the orphans could not
attend school because they had no clothes, they held a fund drive to have uniforms made. We had the student uniforms made in Africa, helping
to create income for local Malawian women whom were themselves caring for orphans.

In June 2010, as we continue our humanitarian work in Malawi, the US students will follow us via Blog and web-cast as their teachers incorporate
class work in Social Studies, Math, Science, Health/Nutrition and Music. Our project goal is to bring hope to the Malawian students while providing
the US students an opportunity to act locally, but make a difference globally.

FAQ

Q: Why is Canterio trying to raise funds?
A: We believe that students in the US will gain a new perspective serving others, build leadership skills by making a difference, and discover new
knowledge by reaching across our borders to help students in poor countries. There is no cost to the schools for participation in the Pangaea
Project. In order to continue our work, helping the orphans and making this connection, we count on your individual support. Your contribution will
be used for the sole purpose of facilitating the connection between the students and to helping increase educational capacity and nutrition for the
orphans in Africa.
