Hunger and under nourishment remain
the biggest obstacle to OVC daily life
and education.
Many orphans do not get
enough daily nutrition. Many
orphans are hungry because
food is scarce. Some
orphans may find wild fruits
or vegetables to eat but are
not getting a balanced diet.
Orphans in child headed households struggle to find
food on a daily basis. Unfortunately, their education
becomes less important when they are hungry.
While there is food in the markets in Lilongwe, most orphans in the villages
struggle to get one meal a day.
Most orphans we work with maintain a
positive outlook for the future. The
Pangaea Project brings hope to their lives.
